Offshore Hiring Salary Guide 2026: Eastern Europe vs Philippines vs LATAM
"Offshore" stopped meaning "cheap call centre" years ago. In 2026, the same remote-work shift that normalised distributed teams also created mature, competitive talent markets across five regions — each with its own sweet spot of skills, timezone and price. Here's the data we use when clients ask where to hire.

For context: comparable US hires typically run 2–4× these figures once payroll taxes, benefits and overhead are included. (MENA generally lands between Eastern Europe and the Philippines — explore it in the widget below.)
How to choose a region
Eastern Europe — senior engineering depth, EU timezones
Poland, Romania, Ukraine and the Baltics offer the deepest senior engineering benches outside the US, strong CS education, and near-perfect overlap with UK/EU hours (plus comfortable US-East morning overlap). You pay the highest offshore rates — and get the most senior-heavy talent pool for it. Best for: staff-level engineers, AI/ML, architecture-critical roles.
Latin America — US-timezone engineering and sales
Brazil, Argentina, Mexico and Colombia have boomed as the default nearshore choice for US teams: same-day collaboration, strong English in the tech sector, and increasingly senior product engineering. Sales roles (SDRs calling US prospects in US hours) are a standout. Best for: US teams that want real-time overlap without US costs.
Philippines — communication-first roles at scale
The Philippines pairs strong neutral-accent English and a deeply service-oriented work culture with very competitive rates. E-commerce operations, customer success, marketing execution and support leadership are exceptional value; the dev market skews mid-level but is improving fast. Best for: e-commerce teams, support/CS orgs, marketing execution.
Pakistan — engineering value leader
Pakistan's tech scene has matured around a huge English-speaking graduate base, strong MERN/mobile/ DevOps talent, and growing AI/ML depth — at the most aggressive rates of the five regions. UK/EU overlap is excellent (4–5 working hours), US-East overlap workable. Best for: full-stack and e-commerce engineering, data, QA — when budget efficiency matters most.

Three mistakes that erase offshore savings
- Hiring on CV + one call. Screening rigour matters more offshore, not less — insist on structured assessment and recorded interviews before you commit calendar time.
- Ignoring timezone math. A 60%-cheaper hire who shares zero working hours with the team often nets out negative. Decide your minimum overlap before choosing a region.
- Paying local-bottom rates. Paying the 75th percentile of an offshore market still saves 50%+ vs local — and gets you retention instead of a revolving door.
We screen across all five regions with AI-scored video interviews and deliver shortlists in 5–7 days — see our remote & offshore staffing service, or check what a vacancy is costing you with the bad-hire calculator guide.
